A chapter has been added to the book Transmathematics which rebuts criticisms of transreal arithmetic on Wikipedia, and which explains faults in the IEEE floating-point specification of NaN. The chapter, NaN, also indicates that it is possible to design more efficient floating-point and integer processors for general-purpose computers.
